As to the scanners problems, all I can say about other Artists I watch who scan their work onto PC, usually leave it as lineart, and colour digitally.
Not sure if I'm being helpful at all.
Lovely art anyway. Can't wait to see more ^_^
And i love too much traditional work to switch to computer art. Sure you can make beautifull art with it, but to me.. Its just its missing someting, someting soulfull in em.

Very cute design. I think the colors came out fine, too. And you know how much cuter I think you look in ponytails!
I miss ther more pronounced muzzle, though--makes you look slightly more "kitty-like." The "blankness" of the open mouth should be filled with something, too--maybe a tongue, or little fangs, etc.
I like that you have shortened your tail a little bit. I think that length matches your body proportions a little better. Well done, all around
